    Overview

Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu Trek combines the experience of visiting the holy Gosainkunda Lake and observing the fantastic views of the Himalayas into a single context. During this combo trek, you will pass through the lush and verdant rhododendron and bamboo woods, spotting rare species of animals in their natural habitat like the Red Panda, and see magnificent waterfalls that adorn the terrains like a masterpiece painting by an omnipotent being and get rewarded by the outstanding views of the snow-topped peaks.

The Lake at Gosainkunda is holy to Buddhists and Hindus and is mainly visited annually by pilgrims in August. The Lake also has significance in the religious context to the Hindus as they believe that the Lake was created by Lord Shiva when he struck his trident in the mountain to drink from the mountain's glaciers to quench his thirst after swallowing a poison that was threatening to destroy the world.

    Highlights Of The Trip

    • The path has many sky-blue-hued mountain lakes, including the holy Lake, Gosainkunda.
    • It is an off-the-beaten trail, so the excursion is brimming with audacious and exciting
      terrains.
    • Navigate the towns, chat with locals and find out about their enticing society, custom
      and lifestyle.
    • The journey involves entering Langtang National Park: home to endangered red pandas and others.
    • Despite the journey being one of Nepal's most famous trips, it welcomes barely any groups. Subsequently, it is a less jam-packed path.
    • Appreciate the stunning scenes and impressive mountains in isolation.

To begin the Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu Trek, we will drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (6-7 Hours) and traverse the ebullient Bhote Koshi River. On the way, we may see wild animals like monkeys and red pandas in the woods as the trek allow us to trudge through acreages of rich verdant vegetation.

We will also pass destinations like the Gumanechok, the Ghoda Tabela, and the Mundu Langtang village before reaching the beautifully pious quintessence of the Kyanjin Gompa. At Kyanjin Gompa, we can notice the way of life of enthusiastic Buddhist monks who carry out rituals in the striking Monastery. We will also enjoy a short hike to the Kyanjin Ri (4,773m), which bestows prominent views of Mt Gyangchempo, Mt. Langtang Lirung, the Ganjala Peak, and many more. As part of an acclimatization process, we will hike to Chorkari Ri (5,050m) with its mesmerizing vistas of the Langshisa Ri (6,810m), Ganjala Peak, Langtang Lirung (7,244m), Gangchampo (6,888m) and more.

The Langtang Gosainkunda Trek package is designed by us, keeping the satisfaction of our customers in mind as a priority. As an essential part of the trek, we will also walk through the environment's alpine sceneries to reach Gosainkunda (4,300m), where we will see the sights around the Lakes. At Gosainkunda, several shimmering lakes appear, which are believed to have been created by Hindu God- Lord Shiva, with his trident. Traversing Laurebinayak Pass (4,610m), the views of Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, and many other snow-capped peaks will greet us, along with the natural prudency of the terrains.

Escape Himalaya provides an excellent rendering of services to its customers and we make sure that our customers get the optimal context on their trekking journeys.

The Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu Trek package is designed carefully, keeping the satisfaction of our customers in mind at the same time, the package also incorporates all of the beautiful natural and cultural quintessence of the Langtang Region in a relatively short amount of time. Join us in this exciting adventure where you can experience the aesthetically pleasing magnificence of the mountains and alluring natural winsomeness and have a closer look at the culture, lifestyle, and traditions of the people in the Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu Trek Package.

We also have alternatives for trekking in the Langtang Region with our Langtang Valley Trek, which allows you to trek in the beautiful valley of the region. The Tamang Heritage Trail lets you excurse through the settlements of the local people and observe their traditions and cultures up close. You can also opt for a customized itinerary as well if you wish to do so.

    PEOPLE AND CULTURE

Tamang, Sherpa, and Bhote are the principal inhabitants of this valley. These ethnic groups' culture is somewhat similar to Tibetan culture. The culture of these people is reflected in their homes, monasteries, chortens, and gumbas. The valley possesses bundles of traditions, culture, customs, rituals, and unique life perspectives. Explore these exquisite etiquettes of the region through the Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu Trek.

    KYANJIN RI

Kyanjin Ri is a perfect viewpoint to see the majestic Langtang mountain range. It is at an elevation of 4,328m and quite challenging to reach the top of the hill. Moreover, ascending to the top of the hill is a significant highlight of the trek. However, once you are at the top of the hill, you will get to see the breathtaking views of Langtang Lirung (7,227m), Changbu (6,251m), Yubra (6,262m), Naya Kanga (5,844m), Yala peak (5,500m), Tserko Peak (5,749m) and Tsergo Ri (4,948m).

From the abovementioned peak, Yala Peak and Naya Kanga peak are pretty famous for peak climbing in Nepal. Moreover, taking a hike to Tsergo Ri is worthwhile. The journey to the spectacular Kyanjin Ri begins in a beautiful village, Kyanjin Gompa. Gompa translates as a monastery, and though the village's name is Kyanjin Gompa, the village itself is not Gompa. There is Gompa, where villagers perform their rituals and celebrate festivals.

    LESS CROWD

The trail is perfect for you if you are not much of a crowd person. Since there are few trekkers in this region, you can experience much more than other treks in Nepal. You get to interact with more people and know broadly about the place and the culture. So, if you are looking for a gateway that will take you away from the stream of people, consider Langtang Valley Trek.

      Gorgeous Views!

Excellent trekking experience with Escape Himalaya to Kala Patthar! Everything went seamlessly, and my guide ensured we were safe and comfortable at all times, even in the high altitude. Will definitely choose EH again when I am back in Nepal for more hiking! The country is so beautiful and just has so much to offer!

Amazing Manaslu Circuit with Phurba & Ram

Just back from a fantastic 2 week trek around the Manaslu Circuit including Larke Pass (5100m). The weather was perfect and the views were outstanding!!

Our guide Phurba Sherpa was excellent. Super knowledgeable and helpful at all times and always made sure we had a fantastic trip.

Our porter, Ram Badhadur Magar was also a rockstar. He was super professional and always arrived before us every day. He was also super friendly and helpful too.

Thanks to Phurba, Ram for always smiling and for a fantastic trip. Would highly recommend them to anyone interested in trekking in Nepal

      Everest base camp trek - Mar-Apr 2024

My 60 year old pals set out in hope on this adventure. In late March. We had our guide Raj Kumar and two porterd Janak and Ramesh. All three were stars. We changed our schedule - no problem. I would not have made it without Raj. I cannot thank him enough. Janak often took my back pack on steep climbs where I was struggling. This is a truly majestic and spiritual trek and I would encourage using Escape Himalaya and request this team of guide and porters if you want to give yourself the best chance of finishing and making best use of your time.

Q1. Is a visa required for entry into Nepal?

Yes, the majority of travelers to Nepal will need a visa. You can acquire one upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu or at land border crossings. Alternatively, you have the option to apply for a visa beforehand at a Nepalese embassy or consulate in your home country.

Q2. Will there be someone to pick me up at the airport when I arrive?

Yes, Escape Himalaya offers airport pickup services for our clients. We recognize the significance of a seamless arrival and strive to guarantee a trouble-free beginning to your journey. When you reserve a trek or tour with us, you can coordinate with our team to schedule a representative to greet you at the airport upon your arrival.

Look for our staff member holding a signboard bearing your name or the company's name for easy recognition. Providing us with your flight details ahead of time, including your flight number and estimated arrival time, enables us to make suitable arrangements for your pickup.

Q3. As a solo traveler, are you able to join a group for your journey?

Certainly! As a solo traveler, you're welcome to join one of the groups organized by Escape Himalaya. We frequently arrange group treks and tours that cater to individuals traveling alone. Joining a group not only allows you to meet other travelers but also offers the opportunity to share experiences and potentially lower costs.

When reaching out to Escape Himalaya, simply inform us that you're a solo traveler interested in joining a group. We'll then provide details about available group departures and assist you in selecting a trek or tour that aligns with your preferences and travel dates.

Q4. What are the types of hotel you use in Kathmandu?

Generally, we use the best available 3-star, 4-star, and 5-star category hotels for travelers' accommodation in Kathmandu. Meanwhile, travelers can upgrade or prolong accommodation with us as required.

The costs to prolong or upgrade hotel accommodation in Kathmandu may vary based on preferred hotel rates.

Q5. Would it be possible for me to upgrade my accommodation to a luxury hotel in Kathmandu?

Certainly! You have the option to upgrade your accommodation to a luxury hotel in Kathmandu. If you wish to elevate your stay from the standard 3-star hotel provided by Escape Himalaya, simply let us know, and we can arrange the upgrade for you. However, please bear in mind that availability and pricing for luxury hotels may fluctuate based on the hotel and the timing of your visit.

Q6. Which destinations are commonly favored by tourists visiting Nepal?

Nepal boasts breathtaking natural landscapes and a profound cultural legacy. Among the sought-after tourist spots are Kathmandu (the capital), Pokhara, Chitwan National Park, Lumbini (the birthplace of Lord Buddha), Bhaktapur, as well as the renowned trekking regions of Annapurna, Everest, Langtang, Manaslu, and Upper Mustang.

Q7. Do we need a visa before coming to Nepal?

Yes, most travelers need a visa to enter Nepal. However, the process for obtaining a visa depends on your nationality. You can either obtain a visa from the diplomatic consulate office of Nepal in your respective country or apply for an “On Arrival” visa at the entry checkpoints of Nepal. Please click this link to get more information on ways to issue a tourist visa. Also please see the visa fee here below:

On-Arrival Visa Fee at Entry Points of Nepal:

    • 15 Days – 30 USD
    • 30 Days – 50 USD
    • 90 Days – 125 USD

Indian nationals do not need to have a visa to enter Nepal however they need to bring an official document such as a Passport or Election card (issued by the Election Commission) that proves their identity.

Q8. Which one is better: Group or Solo (private) trek?

Escape Himalaya offers both group and solo trek to Everest Base Camp. However, to choose to join which tour style completely depends upon the traveler itself.

If you are happy to meet people from other parts of the world and join in an experience of a lifetime with fellow travelers, then going for a group trek is also best.

However, if you prefer freedom and flexibility, trekking solo (private) will give you the independence to set your own pace and choose your itinerary. You will have the flexibility to make spontaneous decisions. You will not be bound by a group schedule and choose to lead your journey as you wish and even modify the plan if needed.

Q9. Who will come to pick me up at the airport on arrival day?

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, one of our representative staff will be there to pick you up at the airport holding a display board of Escape Himalaya. This service is included in all their trekking packages to ensure a smooth and comfortable start to your adventure. The representative will escort you to your hotel, where you will be staying as per the package itinerary. This service is designed to provide you with a hassle-free experience right from the beginning of your trip.
