Overview

Chitwan Jungle Safari Tour is one of Nepal's most famous adventure tours. The Chitwan National Park is located in the southern central region of Nepal, occupying an area of 932 sq. km. It overlooks the floodplains of the Rapti and Narayani Rivers. The tour to Chitwan National Park is for travelers who want to see Nepal's unique wilderness and culture. The park has many endangered animals protected within its perimeters, and excursing here allows you to witness them closely. Not only animals but various avifauna are present in its acreages, and spotting rare exotic birds is a key highlight of the Chitwan Jungle Safari Tour.

Moreover, being the first National Park of Nepal, Chitwan National Park was enlisted as a World Heritage Site in 1984 and a Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1979. With predominantly verdant Sal trees covering about 70% of the National Park, you would be trudging through vibrant and lush woodlands to look at the rare animals in their natural habitat.

The Chitwan Jungle Safari Tour takes you deep into the park, an ancestral home to various mammals, reptiles, and birds. The park highlights include spotting Asian One-Horned Rhinos and the Royal Bengal Tigers. Different species of plants in the park make the Jungle Safari a memorable experience of jungle travel. You can also look at elephants, deer, crocodiles, and pythons in the jungles. You can find different species of beautiful butterflies, 700 to be exact, moths, and insect species. Apart from King Cobra and Rock Pythons, about 17 other species of reptiles have their habitats in the area. Leopards are also most prevalent in the peripheries as well.

Further, Chitwan is also considered to have the highest number of Sloth Bears. It is also home to Bengal Foxes, Spotted Linsangs, Honey Badgers, Stripped Hyenas, Golden Jackals, Fishing Cats, Civets, Mongooses, and Martens. The avifauna of the Chitwan National Park includes 543 species, much more than in any other protected areas, and about two-thirds of Nepal's globally threatened species. The alluvial grasslands are safe for birds like Bengal Floricans, Swamp Francolins, and Babblers to nest and hatch eggs. The lakes and other water bodies around the National Park are also habitats for Egrets, Bitterns, Storks, and Kingfishers.
